Practice Experience: A native of Peoria, Illinois, Tom served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Peoria County from 2000 until joining Heyl Royster in 2003. He has significant trial experience as a prosecutor. Practice Emphasis: Tom concentrates his practice in the defense of asbestos and toxic tort claims arising from environmental and occupations exposure, including products and premises liability claims. He has actively defended clients in asbestos litigation throughout state courts of Illinois. Defendants represented have included insulation manufacturers, gasket manufacturers, distributors, public utilities, pump manufacturers, premises owners and contractors. As counsel, Tom has drafted countless discovery motions, motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. He has deposed treating physicians, pathologists and witnesses. He is familiar with the relevant scientific and medical literature related to asbestos disease as well as the historical significance of various studies, papers and governmental regulations. Tom is a member of the Peoria County, Illinois State and American Bar Associations. Additionally, he is a member of the Abraham Lincoln Inns of Court. Admitted to Practice: State Courts of Illinois
